Service Description: This point feature was created to store and display Fire Hydrants around Fiji, which was captured by the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources and the National Fire Authority. The techniques and equipment used by the team varies, however all of the information captured is ultimately presented as Fire Hydrants Map or is overlaid with other data for decision making purposes.
The Ministry is then responsible the editing and storage of this data as a digital format (i.e. this feature class) using Fiji Map Grid 1986 coordinate system in ArcMap or ArcPro.
Other information from this data such as the Fire Hydrants names, and Localities are also captured during digitization process and stored as attributes in the feature class.
The updating and verifying of this feature class is handled entirely by the FGI Team which is based at I Taukei Trust Fund Complex in Nasese, Suva. Any queries concerning this data can be directed to them on (+679) 323 9706. This data is displayed online at http://vanuagis.lands.gov.fj/vanuagis/.
