This map shows the operative, draft (in preparation but NOR not yet lodged), proposed (NOR lodged and in statutory process) and historic NZTA designations.
The designations are displayed in four different layers, which can be turned on and off:
Operative designations are included in district planning documents.
Proposed designations are those where a NOR has been lodged with the relevant territorial authority, but because a decision has not yet been made, these proposed designations may be subject to change.
Draft designations indicate a potential designation area associated with a future project, but no NOR has been lodged, therefore the potential designation indicated has no legal status (internal viewing only).
Historic shapefiles have no legal status and can include lapsed or removed designations or have been replaced by a more current dataset.
The ‘operative’ Auckland designations are sourced from the Auckland Unitary Plan. The ‘historic’ Auckland designations are sourced from MapHub. Note, there may be differences between the two datasets. Check with environmentalplanning@nzta.govt.nz for further information.
