In June 2016, CFJV processed SNH AWI dataset in order to produce verified AWI datasets for use in A9 Dualling Programme baselines.
This dataset was produced by the following steps:
SNH AWI (2010/01/08) dataset clipped to 10km either side of existing A9.
FC NFI (2014) dataset filtered to only 'Woodland' in Category field.
Ordnance Survey imagery (2005 to 2011).
2013 BLOM aerial imagery.
AWI sites not identified as wooded in NFI dataset or either set of aerial imagery were classified as 'Lost AWI'.
See Lineage section for full details of the datasets used.
This dataset contains all Phase 1 habitats for the A9 alignment following ecological survey conducted June 2014 and September 2014.
The data should be read in conjunction with the following Preliminary Ecological Appraisal reports published in June 2015:
North Scheme, Dalraddy to Moy
Central Scheme, Glen Garry to Dalraddy
South Scheme, Tay Crossing to Glen Garry

GWDTE- This field classifies the polygons potential GWDTE status based solely upon the potential groundwater dependency classifications as set out within SEPA (2014) guidance. The potential GWDTE sensitivity of each polygon containing a potential GWDTE is classified on a 4-tier approach as follows: ‘Highly – dominant’ where potential high GWDTE(s) dominate the polygon, ‘Highly - sub-dominant’ where potential high GWDTE(s) make up a sub-dominant percentage cover of the polygon, ‘Moderately – dominant’ where potential moderate GWDTE(s) dominate the polygon and no potential high GWDTEs are present and ‘Moderately - sub-dominant’ where potential moderate GWDTE(s) make up a sub-dominant percentage cover of the polygon and no potential high GWDTEs are present. Where a potential high GWDTE exists in a polygon it out ranks any potential moderate GWDTE communities within that same polygons.
AnnexI_1– Where a Habitats Directive Annex I habitat type exists within the polygon it is given the corresponding Annex I habitat reference code. If more than one Annex I habitat type exists within a polygon then the most dominant habitat type is assigned to this field.
AnnexI_1pc-% of NVC Habitat
Annex_I_CL– In this field the dominant Annex I habitat type (if applicable) is given a subjective habitat quality rating of Low, Moderate, or High.
AnnexI_2– Habitats Directive Annex I habitat. Where there is more than one Annex I habitat type within a polygon the second most dominant habitat type is assigned to this field.
AnnexI_2pc-% of NVC Habitat
AnnexI_3– Habitats Directive Annex I habitat. Where there is more than one Annex I habitat type within a polygon the third most dominant habitat type is assigned to this field.
AnnexI_3pc-% of NVC Habitat
AnnexI_4- Habitats Directive Annex I habitat. Where there is more than one Annex I habitat type within a polygon the fourth most dominant habitat type is assigned to this field.

SBL PH_1– Where a Scottish Biodiversity List (SBL) Priority habitat type exists within the polygon it is given the corresponding SBL habitat classification. If more than one SBL priority habitat type exists within a polygon then the most dominant habitat type is assigned to this field.
