Description: This dataset contains the boundaries for the Incorporated Town boundaries in Franklin County, VA.The boundaries were drawn with the best available data, and will be corrected as need. The Town of Boones Mill boundary was drawn using the 2004 Tax Maps. There are surveys that show approximate boundary lines that are significantly different. There was also an available meets and bounds description of the boundary, however the drawn polygon does not close, being off by more the 50 feet. The Town of Rocky Mount Boundary was draw from a meets and bounds description, as well as plats from recent anexations. That was matched up with the parcels and streams in the GIS where applicable and is believed to be fairly accurate.
