text1 (type: esriFieldTypeString, alias: Glasgow City Council's Active Travel Strategy 2022-2031 sets out the concept of a City Network to provide a dense network of high-quality protected cycle lanes and improved pedestrian infrastructure across Glasgow, to be delivered by 2031. The network is aiming to link services and facilities across multiple neighbourhoods, providing easy and safe active journeys across Glasgow for everyone.
GCC is working together with its consultant team to progress the Connecting Greater Govan section of the City Network to developed design by the end of April 2025. To streamline planning and design, routes have been grouped into two packages. We will be engaging on each route package separately.
This survey seeks your views on the Red Package:• Govan Road (Moss Road – Elder Park – Orkney Street)• Orkney Street – Broomloan Road – Summertown Road• Govan Road - Lorne Street (Summertown Road – Paisley Road West)• Shieldhall Road – Edmiston Drive, SQL Type: sqlTypeOther, length: 255, nullable: true, editable: true)
text2 (type: esriFieldTypeString, alias: The first package of design proposals for Connecting Greater Govan are set out in the Connecting Greater Govan StoryMap
Please note that the designs are currently at an advanced stage of development. While we welcome your feedback, it is important to understand that significant changes to route alignments may not be feasible at this point, given the earlier work and engagement already conducted. However, your input is crucial for understanding the impact of the proposals and identifying possible minor adjustments or mitigation measures that can still be accommodated.
We look forward to your thoughts and thank you for your understanding.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The deadline for completing this survey is Sunday 1st December 2024., SQL Type: sqlTypeOther, length: 255, nullable: true, editable: true)

Proposals_list_text (type: esriFieldTypeString, alias: Connecting Greater Govan proposals include:
• Introduction of a two-way cycle track on Govan Road, Orkney Street, Broomloan Road, Summertown Road, and Lorne Street. The two-way cycle track is designed to protect cycle users from traffic.
• Widening pavements at key junctions, to slow traffic and improve pedestrian crossings.
• Reducing pavements at some locations. Where pavements are narrowed, enough space for pedestrians will be maintained .
• Installing step-free crossings and pavement buildouts at key junctions, to slow traffic, enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and aid those with mobility issues.
• Upgrade of existing pedestrian crossings, and in some places the installation of new crossings
• Parking changes: Some informal places will be formalised, while others will be removed for a new cycle track. Alternative parking will be provided where possible.
• Converting existing two-way streets to one-way streets. Changes include a section of Burghead Place, Peninver Drive, a section of Moss Road, Orkney Street, a section of Vicarfield Street and Lorne Street. One-way streets would be introduced to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
• A junction priority change at Summertown Road and Copland Road.
• Existing roundabouts at Edmiston Drive / Helen Street and Edmiston Drive / Broomloan Road would be replaced with signalised junctions.
• Bus stop bypasses would be introduced at locations on Govan Road, Summertown Road. Meaning pedestrians would access the bus stop via a mini-Zebra crossing, crossing the new two-way cycle track.
• Placemaking improvements, including opportunities for additional planting, seating and improved public realm.
